When a Homeowner Says They Already Paid
On every payment page, a homeowner can click "I've already sent a payment" if they've mailed a check or paid through their own bank's bill-pay service, and want to let you know before a reminder goes out.
What the homeowner sees
They choose how they sent it (mailed check, bank bill-pay, or other) and the date they sent it. If that date falls after the grace period would have ended, they're shown a heads-up that a late fee may still apply — so there's no surprise later.
What happens after they submit
The charge itself isn't marked paid — this is just a note letting you know a payment may be on its way. Automated reminders pause for about ten business days from the date they said they sent it, giving normal mail time to catch up. If the payment still hasn't arrived by then, reminders resume with a message that specifically references what they told you, rather than a generic late notice.
What you see as the board
Pending and unresolved claims show up in the Needs Your Attention section of your Dues dashboard, so you're never caught off guard by a payment that never arrives.
