HOA Elections
Launching and Sending Ballots
Launching is the point of no return. It creates the ballots, fixes the voter list, and locks the positions and candidates.
Before you launch
The review section lists anything still missing. If some units will not receive a ballot, you will see exactly which ones and how it affects quorum before confirming.
When ballots are sent
Ballots are emailed automatically when voting opens. If voting opens within a few hours, or has already opened, you can send them immediately instead.
Extending the deadline
If turnout is short of quorum while voting is still open, you can extend the deadline by up to 30 days past the original close date. Every unit that has not yet voted is emailed about the new deadline — this cannot be turned off, and the extension is recorded on the results page.
Tip: Extensions are visible in the permanent record of the election. That protects the board as much as the membership: a documented extension is far easier to defend than a quiet one.
