Shown at the top — how much this unit currently owes, right now, across everything on this page.

Reading the history

Charges (like Regular Dues or a special assessment) increase the balance and show a status badge — OPEN, PARTIAL, or PAID. Payment received lines decrease the balance, and show the method used — card, bank transfer (ACH), check, or cash. Each line shows the running balance immediately after that entry, so you can see exactly how the current balance was reached, not just what it is today.
