Connect your own domain

Connect a domain you own to use addresses like team@yourclub.org. Formtabulous then receives the domain’s mail and sends replies as those addresses.

Before you start

Connecting points all incoming mail for the domain to Formtabulous (its MX record). If people already have mailboxes on the domain, for example with Google Workspace or Microsoft 365, those mailboxes stop receiving mail. In that case, use a separate domain or a free formtabulo.us address, or contact us first.

1. Add the domain

In Community Inbox → Addresses & team, under Your domains, enter the domain without www or https (for example yourclub.org) and choose Connect.

2. Publish the DNS records

Sign in at the company where you bought the domain, or where its DNS is managed, and add each record shown, using the copy buttons:

  • TXT (verification): proves you control the domain.
  • CNAME × 3 (DKIM): lets your replies be signed so they don’t land in spam.
  • MX: delivers the domain’s mail to Formtabulous. Remove any other MX records.
  • TXT _dmarc (recommended): skip it if the domain already has one.

Many DNS providers add the domain automatically. If yours does, enter only the first part as the name, for example _dmarc. For MX, use @ or leave the name empty.

3. Check

Choose Check DNS. New records can take from a few minutes to a few hours to show up, and you can check as often as you like. When the domain shows Ready, set up an address on it.
