Email Forwarder

Getting Started with Email Forwarding

What is Email Forwarding?

Email Forwarding allows you to receive emails sent to your custom domain (like contact@yourcompany.com) directly in your personal Gmail, Outlook, or any other email account — without paying for Google Workspace or Microsoft 365.

Example: Someone sends an email to info@yourwebsite.com. It automatically forwards to your personal Gmail account you@gmail.com. You can then reply as info@yourwebsite.com with proper SMTP setup.

What You'll Need

  • A domain name you own (e.g., yourcompany.com, purchased from GoDaddy, Namecheap, Google Domains, etc.)
  • Access to your domain's DNS settings (where you manage DNS records)
  • An email account to receive forwarded emails (Gmail, Outlook, etc.)
  • 5-10 minutes for DNS propagation

How It Works

  1. Add your domain — Tell Formtabulous which domain you want to use
  2. Verify DNS records — Add special DNS records to prove you own the domain
  3. Create forwarding rules — Set up which addresses forward where (e.g., sales@yourcompany.comjohn@gmail.com)
  4. Start receiving emails — Emails sent to your custom address arrive in your personal inbox

Common Use Cases

  • Professional email without the cost — Use hello@yourname.com instead of Gmail addresses
  • Department aliasessupport@company.com, sales@company.com, info@company.com
  • Catch-all forwarding — Forward ALL emails to your domain (*@yourcompany.com) to one inbox
  • Team distribution — Forward team@company.com to multiple people at once
Important: This is forwarding, not a full email hosting service. You receive emails in your existing inbox (like Gmail), but you can set up SMTP to reply from your custom address.
