Primary Contact and Who Receives the Ballot
When a unit has more than one contact — co-owners, a spouse, a property manager — one of them is the primary contact. That is the person who receives the ballot.
Each unit gets one vote, so only one person can hold the ballot. The first contact assigned to a unit becomes primary automatically. Use Make Primary on any other contact to change it.
Contacts who cannot be primary
A contact who has unsubscribed or whose address has been marked invalid cannot be the primary contact, because the ballot would never reach them. Those contacts show "Cannot be primary" instead of the button. They can still be assigned to the unit — they simply will not be the one who votes.
Tip: If a unit has only one contact and that contact has unsubscribed, the unit counts as having no contact and will be excluded from ballots. Assign a different contact, or ask the owner to resubscribe.
